Senate

Carine Warner

  • Werner has been criticized for opposing additional school funding for the school district she represents (6) and pushing hard to cut after-school programs(7).

Christine Marsh

  • Christine Marsh is a former Arizona Teacher of the Year and has worked as an English teacher for 32 years. 

  • Marsh has led efforts to stop cuts to public schools, increase accountability, and restore education funding so that Arizona no longer ranks among the bottom five in the country. 

  • Has fought to make our schools safer by working to keep fentanyl out of our schools and investing in increased security for all campuses.

Matt Gress

  • Matt knows what it entails to run a classroom as a teacher and has ignored that experience -pushing legislation that will add more red tape on teachers by forcing them to report every dollar spent… potentially even the dollars teachers are spending out of their own pocket on things like crayons for their students..   • Matt Gress goes with whatever policy he thinks will get him elected, changing his position on multiple policy issues throughout his legislative career. (11)

  • Matt Gress strongly supports the use of government funds for private schools through the voucher program regardless of the family's income, with little to no oversight. (12)

Kelli Butler

  • Butler has been a primary supporter of increasing accountability for private schools, which receive tax dollars through the voucher program, which should be held to the same standards as public schools. 

  • Kelli Butler is serving on the Maricopa County Community College District and is helping them make the most of the limited funding available to them. 

  • Butler is a KidsCare Champion and sponsored legislation expanding income eligibility to cover more children on KidsCare.

Karen Gresham

  • Gresham has served as the Madison Elementary School District president since 2022. 

  • Karen is a parent to three boys and saw firsthand the need for reliable, long-term funding for our public schools. 

  • Karen has been a longtime fighter for public education, tirelessly dedicating her personal time and money to supporting other public school champions.
